$30,000 GIVEAWAY - WINNERS ANNOUNCED!!!
Over 20,000 people have entered the Big ARB $30,000 Giveaway, and the winners have finally been decided. All up, 101 people walked away with goodies. There were entries with heart, entries with fun and entries with both!
The winner of the ARB $10,000 gift voucher (1st prize) was Fiona Wallace from Shepparton. It was great timing, because Fiona, hubby and her three young boys are getting ready to head to Cape York. Here is their winning entry:
"Three kids in tow, not much dough! We need some gear, our trip is near! C'mon Pat with us, river crossings and red dust! Cape York we'll go, you tough, gung-ho!! We don't know much, camp oven?...Is that Dutch???!!! All over he's been, Pat's the outback queen!!"
Second prize was brilliant too, and gained more than $3,000 worth of top quality REDARC electronics products. Here is Greg Mair's successful entry, called 'GO FOR BROKE' after the mouth of the Broke River Inlet, Walpole, Western Australia:
"Five hours drive, south of Perth, pristine drive, heaven on earth,
Tranquil camping paradise, natural beauty to entice. Superb fishing - inlet to coast, recreational diversity this area boasts. See historic cattle drover's shacks, along 4WDrive Fisherman's Track. Perfect escape for an adventurous bloke. C'mon Pat, GO FOR BROKE!!!"
Steve Morawiec used his outback knowledge to snare third place, and in the process really got Pat thinking about locations for future episodes:
"Mount Augustus or Burringurrah as it is known by the local Wadjari Aboriginal people, is the largest monolith in the world. It is two and a half times larger than Uluru (Ayers Rock), and yet is still unknown by many Australians. Contrast this with a visit to Coral Bay." Steve scored a set of Pirelli Scorpion tyres for his next adventure.
