Episode 2: Western & Central Tasmania – The exploration of Tassie continues, with
Episode 3, 4 and 5 mark out an incredible journey with a difference: Brisbane to Sydney on the dirt. So many of us have done the highway dash between Australia’s first and third most populous cities, down the highway. We do the Brisbane to Sydney drive, but we do it on the dirt!
Starting from the Storey Bridge in centre of Brissy, we travel all the way to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We find some amazing tracks through the hinterland as we travel south, places quickly forgotten by the quick commute on the highway. The journey is varied as well, we encounter the New England’s high country, the dense jungled valleys of Port Macquarie’s hinterland, and pretty much everything in between. If you want to be inspired by some amazing destinations tucked away between Sydney and Brisbane, this journey cannot be missed.
Then, it’s up into Queensland proper. Starting from Karumba in the Gulf, Pat takes the family into some of his favourite destinations in the Top End. Normanton is on the list, followed by some awesome dirt-road touring to Burketown, Kingfisher Camp, Lawn Hill and Adel’s Grove. Then it’s onto Riversleigh to cap it all off. These are all must-see destinations in the Gulf, showing what is so good about this special slice of Australia.
The Box Set is crammed full of extra segments and footage of Pat’s travels, stuff which just couldn’t be fitted into the television broadcast. We’re expecting them to fly out the door, so buy one now so you don’t miss out.
